The dynamic duo! The creators of meraki! Back in 2020 is when it all began, from an idea on a park bench, to a 2 chair studio space, and now onto a 6 chair salon!
meraki is a space we created where we want people to feel just as much at home in it as we do. A space that if full of passionate, talented, and dedicated stylists.
The word meraki alone means to do something with soul, love, and creativity, to leave apart of yourself in all that you do. This is exactly what this space is to us, and we can not wait to share the meraki experience with you!
Alexis Karpiak
10/10 times would describe myself as a hair nerd! My love for hairstyling started at the Aveda Institute in 2016. Since then I have grown so fast in such a short amount of time but it wouldn’t be possible without the love & support from clients, friends & family!
When i consult about hair, I have an opportunity to enhance my clients beauty and make them feel like their absolute best selves. Seeing the smile on someones face when they love their hair is the most-rewarding feeling!
I love ALL things hair related but spend most of the time behind a stack of foils! If i'm not at the salon, i’m working towards entering my next hair competition. As a stylist, I am consistently learning new techniques and staying on top of trends. As a leader I look forward to motivating my team everyday! Education keeps me inspired and current with our ever-evolving industry.
Marika Wiebe
My introduction to the hair world started in 2014, when I began my training and further started my apprenticeship. The life this industry has given me is far more than I could ever have imagined, from the creativity, the people, the forever progressing industry is like no other.
Over the years I have found passion for all things hair but particularly through dimensional work, and more lived-in looks. I believe my job is to create, embrace and find whatever it is that makes you feel beautiful.

Callie Hesse
My career started back in Sweden, yes the country where everyone is blonde. It was in 2014 that I decided it was time to pursue my dreams and here we are. I’ve always been a very creative person and with a background in photography and art - colour has always been my thing.
The best thing about this industry is the freedom and that it always keeps developing with new trends and techniques. It has taken me from city to city, from Europe to Toronto and now Calgary my home base.
I specialize in blondes, lived in colour and extensions but i’m always up for a good challenge! I look forward to sharing your hair journey with you!
Colleen Bulman
My hair journey began in 2017 in Toronto. It has been something that I have a great passion for and brings me joy. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and techniques with each client here in Calgary.
This industry has helped made me grow so much and become the person i am today. I love creatively expressing myself through hair and always creating different looks for my clients. My favourite technique to do is balayage and lived-in colour. I not only love making people feel beautiful but i love creating a wonderful experience with you from start to finish!

Magan Truesdale
Beginning my career as a hairstylist in Vancouver where the wild fashion roams…I have returned to my hometown Calgary to change things up!
My love for texture, colour and shape comes from a background in textile and fiber arts, a passion of mine that has been a lifelong creative outlet.
While i am still at the start of my dreams in this industry, hair experiments where a prominent part of my childhood and adolescence… it was only natural to end up here!
From vivid fashion colours to lived in highlights, a shaggy mullet, statement bangs, you name it!
Creating one of a kind signature looks is what I do best!
Cashew
Cashew, is our newest addition to the meraki family. You’ll see her from Tuesday thru Saturday. She loves treats and her favourite toys conclude a pineapple & ladybug!
Sadie
Sadie, meraki ‘s first addition! Sadie works Tuesday thru Friday and enjoys her weekends off at home. Sadie is the queen of fetch and loves stealing everyone else’s toys and treats!
